United as One

I was at the airport rebooking a cancelled fight. Waiting in line were two OFW’s (Overseas’s Filipino Workers) who had come home in search of their families in typhoon ravaged Tacloban. They were anxious and trying desperately to get a flight. The ticket representative suggested Calbayog in Samar Leyte and then make a land or sea crossing to reach the devastated city. It would be a long and terrible journey with the infrastructure down. One guy counted his cash, it was barely enough to pay for fare. When he got his ticket I approached to give him money but he did not want to accept it. I asked him to use the funds to buy food or relief goods when he got to Tacloban instead. I said it is not much but you would be doing me a great favor as thru you help could get there much faster. When he left I cried. I hope he finds his family.
